Douglas M. Howard 72 of Pinellas Park passed away Friday, April 4, 2014. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was retired from the United States Army where he served his country honorably for 22 years, having received the Bronze Star while on duty in Vietnam. He also retired from the Pinellas County Sheriff�s Office after 24 years with the rank of Sergeant. He was a member of the Police Benevolent Association and he was a mason. Douglas is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Alta; he is the loving father of Morena M. Mahon, Tracey Letourneau and Dorian Massa; brother of Danny L. Harris and Dennis Jones. Grandfather of 6, great grandfather of 13. Predeceased by two brothers: Early Howard and Jimmy Stark. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 from 11 A.M. until service time at 1 P.M. Interment will follow at Bay Pines National Cemetery with full Military Honor at 2:15 P.M.
