Dorothy (Dot) Williams of Sanford, FL passed away in Altamonte, FL on Sunday, January 21, 2018. She celebrated her 98th birthday Friday, January 19th.

Dorothy was born in Sylvania, Georgia on January 19, 1920 to Leola and Herbert Stewart. At age 5 she moved with her family to Sanford where she has resided and raised her family of 6 children. She was happily married for 45 years to her high school sweetheart, the late Robert (Bob) Williams.

Dorothy has been a member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Sanford since 1932 and has been active in the church throughout her life, volunteering for many different committees. She made the palm crosses for Palm Sunday every year until the age of 92. In 1949, she became a charter member of Beta Sigma Phi. She was a past member and officer in the Sanford Women's Club. As a young mother, she served as PTA President at Southside Elementary School and PTA Council President. She volunteered with the Meals on Wheels Program and was a member of the 10 Gallon Club; as she gave blood regularly to help others. Dorothy was compassionate, generous, and loving to all who knew her.

She will always be remembered as the best mother in the world. Her dream to have 6 children became a reality and she devoted her life to her family. Every decision and act was in the best interest of her husband and children. She was happiest when all of her family was together, which was often, as every Christmas and the 4th of July are times of family reunion. She is loved and will be missed by all.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Williams, her daughters Dorothy (Dottie) Williams Bolton and Frances Williams Riser, her brother, Robert William Stewart and sister, Nell Stewart Johnson. She is survived by her four loving children, 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Her son, Dr. Robert T. Williams (Audrey) of Longwood, daughter, Sylvia Williams Caraway (John) of Altamonte Springs, daughter Sheralynn Williams Morgan of Longwood, and daughter Deborah Williams Lobsinger (Glenn) of Raleigh, NC. Her grandchildren, Christie Burney Park (Dave), Jim Burney (Edie), Michele Morris Davis (Mike), Jay Morris (Kristin), Bob Williams, Matt Williams, Susan Williams McCormack (Zack), Drew Morgan (Katie), Justin Morgan, Meghan Lobsinger Teten (Matt), Jessica Lobsinger Troskey (Matt), and Kyle Lobsinger. Also her great-grandchildren, Spencer Park, Brandon Park, Nicole Park, Britneigh Davis Johnson (Chris), Taylor Davis, Amanda Melvin, Kali Zerick Wharton (John), Ashley Zerick, Katie Zerick, and Owen Morgan. She has one great-great grandchild, Ella Park.

Services will be at Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Sanford on January 26th at 10:00 AM. A visitation for family and friends has been scheduled for Thursday, January 25th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at DeGusipe Funeral Home in Sanford. Please come and celebrate Dorothy's life.
