Pesto, Dorothy K.
93, of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away May 10, 2014 at home. Dorothy was born on April 15, 1921 in Utica, NY; daughter of John and Grace (Smallenberger) Kogut. Dorothy moved to the St. Petersburg, FL area in 1964. Dorothy is survived by her son, John L. (Susan) Pesto; and grandchildren, Sarah, Mary and John, all of Gainesville, FL; her daughters, Patricia (Dennis) New of Dunnellon, FL and Debra Harrington of St. Petersburg, FL; grandchildren, Patricia Lynn Poag and Charissa Garcia; her great-grandchildren, Jacob, Kevin, Christian and Christina; her brothers, Harold Kogut of St. Petersburg, FL and John Kogut Jr., of Holland Patent, NY; and her sister, Betty Mosher of Herkimer, NY. Dorothy is predeceased by her husband John, her son Douglas, her grandson Kevin New, her sister Verna Nickerson, and her brother Francis Kogut. A memorial service will be held on June 9th at 1:00 pm at the Magnolia Sun Center, 7950 58th Avenue North, St. Petersburg, FL. A private burial will take place at the Bay Pines Veterans' Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice Foundation, 5771 Roosevelt Boulevard, Clearwater, FL 33760 in Dorothy's memory. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Suncoast Hospice staff, and caregivers Caroline Kirby, and Christi Semmel for all the loving care they gave to Dorothy.
