Dot LaPerle, 87, of Oxford, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018. Dot was born on May 19, 1931 in Marshfield, Vermont to Louis and Leah Nelson. She moved to Oxford in 1964 with her husband Joe, to purchase a packing house as well as a gas station that was on the corner of highway 301 and 466. Dot and Joe retired at age 55 and sold the business. This allowed Dot and Joe to travel in their motor-home across country which developed so many good memories to share with the family. After retirement, Dot began driving school bus for Sumter County Public School System. She was so proud of her service to the community and enjoyed her involvement with the children .


Survivors include Tannis Goehring or Orlando, Judy and Doug Ball of Clermont, Cheryl and Chuck Creel of Inverness, 6 grandchildren and spouses and 8 great-grandchildren.


Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 24th at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4001 Edgewater Drive, Orlando, Fl, 32804 and the Funeral Mass to follow.

Interment will be in Pine Level Cemetery, Oxford, Florida immediately after the Funeral Mass.


Flowers will be accepted for those wishing a memorial.
