Obituary

Born on March 21, 1928 in Alexander, IL Dorothy was one of seven children. Her parents were Joel W. Knous who was carpenter and Margaret Knous who was a homemaker. When Dorothy was young her family moved to Petersburg, IL where she went to school. At the age of nineteen she married Dale Clark. Dale also came from a family of seven children and so to keep things even Dale and Dorothy had seven children. Certainly seven must have been their lucky number. Mom Clark is survived by Margaret Ann Eskew of Sherman, IL., Michael Dean of Ocoee, FL., Linda Kay Brown of Virginia, IL., Thomas Dale lives in High Springs, MO., Mark Alan of Ocoee, FL, and Timothy Lee of Nazareth, PA. Her daughter, Brenda Sue Bell of Petersburg IL., preceded her in death in April 2016
Besides raising her children, Dorothy worked for the State of Illinois Department of Revenue for twenty five years until her retirement (first) in 1990. Not long after retiring she moved to Ocoee, Florida. Dale followed her to Florida after a couple years. Once in Florida Dorothy was asked if she was looking for work. She said yes and was hired by U.S. Rentals where she worked for eleven years. Just when she thought she could retire another opportunity arose. A fill in receptionist was needed at Amber Electric. She took the job and it turned into a permanent ½ day job for almost six years.
When Dorothy came to Florida she learned about the West Orange Seniors. Soon she was joining them for trips to the Hard Rock casino in Tampa, playing bingo and eating at the many luncheons the Seniors had. Her favorite activity with the Seniors had to be playing bingo although she really enjoyed the luncheons. Dorothy did some volunteer work at Health Central Hospital and was a walker at West Oaks Mall. She also enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
