In Loving Memory of Doris Jeanne ( Korb ) Meier

January 16, 1926 - June 6, 2015

Doris J. Meier age 89, of St. Petersburg, FL passed away peacefully June 6, 2015. Preceding her death was her loving, devoted husband of 66 years, John H. Meier and daughter Joni Sue. Born in Evansville, IN to Harold L and Elsa W. Korb.

She worked in Korb�s Confectionery and Ice Cream Manufacturing Company before she and her husband moved to Florida in 1949. Her financial career was the perfect match for her meticulous record keeping at Union Trust Bank and Beneficial Finance. In 1956 she and her husband and brother Don developed Brookside Mobile Manor. She and her husband also developed In-Town Mini Storage. Doris was a dedicated member of Lakewood United Methodist Church. She and her husband enjoyed playing games, their monthly weekend motorhome camp outs with their Hobo�s Camping Club, and spending time with her family. Doris was a dear friend to everyone, a devoted loving mother and wife. Her sweetness and smile will be dearly missed.

She is survived by two loving daughters, Amy (Dan) Beck of Clearwater, Lisa (Ray) Rice of Clearwater, two beloved brothers, Harold W. (Patti) Korb of Clearwater, Donald L. (Peggy) Korb of St. Petersburg, two dear sister-in-laws Venita (Alton) Reininga of Evansville, IN, Lillian Mae (Theodore) Gerichs of Evansville, IN, four loving grandsons Scott Beck, Jeffrey Beck, Jonathan Basye, and Benjamin Rice all of Clearwater, FL, and many cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. Memorial service will be on Saturday, August 15, 11:00am at Lakewood United Methodist Church (LUMC) 5995 9th Street S, St. Petersburg, FL. In lieu of flowers please donate to Suncoast Hospice Foundation or LUMC.
