Donald Bradley Johannes of Windermere, FL passed away in his home on Monday, December 24, 2018 at the age of 86.

Donald was born to parents Clarence and Bessie (McNair) Johannes on September 15, 1932 in Belvidere, IL. Donald was a graduate of Belvidere High School. He attended the University of Wisconsin before induction into the United States Army. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to study at Illinois State University achieving his degree in Education.

In January 1957 he married Kathryn Larson in Belvidere, IL. They resided in the Belvidere/Rockford area for many years before retiring to Florida in 2010. Together they raised two children, Julie Diane and Bradley Scott.

Donald worked in the Education field for many years as both an instructor and administrator. He followed his interests and continued his employment as an Insurance and Investment specialist representing many companies including Metropolitan Life, Mass Mutual and New England Life.

Actively involved in the community, he supported the Belvidere School District, Rock Valley College and the Tebala Shrine organization. He had many interests however his favorite was watching the Wisconsin Badgers play sports.

Survivors include his spouse Kathryn, daughter Julie (Jack) Nimtz of Florida, Bradley (Michel) Johannes of Iowa, Grandchildren, Shari (Phil) Sulser, Zachary (Kaitlyn) Johannes and Jeremy (Samantha) Johannes. Great grandchildren, Alexis, Samuel, Lane and Wilhamena.

He is predeceased by his parents.
