Denise Covert passed away on March 20th, 2021. She was 54 years old.

Denise was a beloved mother, teacher, and friend. Born in Glasgow, Denise earned degrees in English, Education, and Hospitality management in the UK before moving to Portugal where she taught for 10 years, specializing in EAL and students with special needs. In pursuit of her American dream, Denise moved to Florida where she loved to spend time at Disney with her family while pursuing a career in hospitality where she wore many hats from managing restaurants to being the owner of a cleaning company and a coffee shop.

Denise is survived by her husband Nick, her children Armando, Daniela, and Brandon, 2 Granddaughters, and her mother Dorothy.

Denise will be remembered for her elegance and her heart. She had a strong sense of faith and family. She had a quick wit and was an avid reader. Denise's legacy will be compassion, she understood the value of time and gave it freely to those she loved. She enjoyed volunteering at her children's schools. She had a passion for education and a passion for life-- a passion that will always be felt.

Vigil Services will be held at the DeGusipe Funeral Home at 9001 Orlando Avenue in Maitland on Thursday, April 8th, from 6:00 - 9:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be at Holy Family Catholic Church Friday, April 9th, at 10:30 AM. The burial will take place in Scotland at a later date.
