Dayle Ann Catterton, age 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Thursday,
April 2nd, 2026 in St. Petersburg, FL.
Born on February 14, 1951, in Elmhurst, Illinois to Dale (1994) and Mildred (2019) Searles.
She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Earle Catterton, Sr, whom she shared 44 years of
marriage with prior to his passing in 2015. Dayle enjoyed her career as the Development
Director at Operation PAR, where she organized and led many successful events such as the
annual Red Ribbon Week and Poetic Justice Gala. She retired on January 4th, 2019.
Dayle is survived by her children, Robert Earle Catterton, Jr (Kelly), Richard Catterton (Tammy),
Jamie Wassermann, Raymond Catterton (Hope); grandchildren, Jordan (Russ), Jacob (Cindy),
Samantha, Bobby (Tori), Joshua (Sophia), Mitchell, Becca (John), Stephen, Stephanie (Kevin),
Jessica (Michael); great-grandchildren, Isobel, Jackson, Weston, and Lilliana, all of whom she
loved and spoiled immensely. She also leaves behind her sisters Lynne Eastlake (Richard -
2023) and Jan Vella, nieces Dawn Mullis Barton and Shawna McKnight (Doug), along with
several great-nieces and nephews.
Dayle was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, baking copious amounts of
Christmas cookies, cruising with her sisters, and watching Hallmark movies. She made sure all
guests felt welcome in her home, and regularly had a variety of snacks, beverages, and even
extra gifts on Christmas just in case there was an extra person around. She was also an avid
Amazon connoisseur and DoorDash regular. Those that knew Dayle best will remember her for
her feisty personality, stubborn spirit, enormous heart, and passion for intentional gift giving; she
was loved by all and will be missed dearly.
As per her wishes, no services will be held. Please share your loving memories of Dayle with
the family directly.
