DAVIDSON WRENN ANDREWS
August 30, 1932 – October 18, 2019

Davidson "Dave" Andrews passed away peacefully on Friday, October 18, 2019, surrounded by loved ones and in the care of VITAS Hospice in Longwood, Florida, after 87 well lived years.

Dave is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Christine "Chris" Andrews. They were happily married for 62 years, and together they raised four children: Michael Andrews (wife Jackie, children Matthew, Cody, and Kayla); Karen Andrews Stewart (husband Don); Jocelyn Andrews Kuchera (husband Mark, children Matthew, David, Robert and Ashton); Kathleen Andrews Ferguson (husband Vince, children Savannah and Austin); and four great-grandchildren (Brody, Jaynalyse, Ella and Sophie).

Born outside of Toronto, Canada, on August 30, 1932, Dave learned early in life to put family first when upon his father's passing, he left high school to help his mother with the family bakery. He eventually finished his schooling, and moved to Rochester, New York to work as a draftsman for Stromberg-Carlson. In the summer of 1977, Stromberg-Carlson relocated Dave and his family to Central Florida, where he continued to work as a software engineer, ultimately retiring after more than 40 years of loyal service.

Dave served two years in the United States Army where he was stationed at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He was proud of his Canadian heritage, but he was also proud of becoming a citizen of the United States in the year 2000.
Dave enjoyed many pastimes, including traveling, music, reading, being outdoors, and various sports. One of the original fans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he often questioned his loyalty, but supported them faithfully. More than anything, Dave loved his hockey, which he played with exceptional talent and followed with great passion.
A deeply caring and generous person, Dave would do anything for his family and friends. He had a great work ethic and was a tremendous role model. His great sense of humor and quick wit were always at hand, and he will forever be remembered by his family for his "Papa-isms".
A Celebration of Life will take place in February 2020. Friends and family are encouraged to revisit this website for updates regarding the date, time and place.
