Obituary

Maya Angelou once said: "A great soul serves everyone all the time. A great soul never dies. It brings us together again and again." Such words seem fitting when describing the great loss we feel as we say goodbye to but also celebrate the life of a loving father, grandfather and friend, David Paul Ross. David Paul Ross Sr., 74, of Casselberry, FL, passed away on October 10th, 2020 after succumbing to end-stage renal failure. Mr. Ross was born in Cleveland, Tennessee in 1946 to Ezra Alvin Ross and Mildred Reva Ross. He was one amongst twelve siblings who include: Lillian Louise Miller, Donald Alvin Ross, Jimmy Ray Ross, Robert Eugene Ross, Johnny Earl Ross, Carolyn Sue Poole, Irene Ross, Arlene Schuler, Sharon Elaine O'Donnell, Randall Lee Ross, Michael Billy Ross and himself. David Ross is survived by his four children, David P. Ross Jr., Lelia Fugate, Shelia Stewart, and Michael Baker. He is also survived by his many, loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those who were close to David Ross, regarded him fondly by his beloved nickname, Pops. A nickname that he was well suited for as most people who knew him considered him family. He worked for many years as a plant manager for Coca Cola and spent the rest of his years with his many family members. His family and friends would often describe Pops as a man with a great sense of humor and adventure. He loved classic country and rock music, playing cards and going fishing. These hobbies he shared with his family and friends, always including them in his adventures and games. Apart from his venturesome nature, Pops had grown to genuinely enjoy getting to know his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. Knowing them and watching them grow up had been a source of the utmost pride for him, just as they are so proud to call him their Pops. The family appreciates any and all of your condolences and in lieu of flowers, asks that you please send any gifts or donations to The National Kidney Foundation.
