Maurer MD, David 79 of Deland/Winter Park passed away peacefully on September 27, 2017 at the Halifax Care Center in Orange City. Born and raised in NYC to Edward and Beatrice Maurer. David married Judy Joiner on June 21,1961. He attended University of Miami then earned his medical degree from Tulane Medical school. He did his internship in the US Army as a Captain and served as a Battalion Surgeon in Vietnam. He had a long and distinguished career as a Pathologist at Winter Park Hospital and then finishing at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial. He was a founding member of Interlachen Country Club in Winter Park. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy. His three children Dr. David(Patti)Maurer of Hilton Head S.C, Kristy(Robert) Bistritz of Oviedo, Traci(James) Gill of Deland. Seven Grandchildren, Lindsay Hollaway, Dare Hollaway, Palmer Ilnisky, David Maurer, Katie Maurer, Cassie Maurer and Dylan Gill. Three great grandchildren, Maddox Rainey, Channing Rainey and Leighton Teel. He had a wonderful life, was loved by all and will be missed.
