Obituary

David Lee Fann passed away peacefully on 02/13/2026 after a long illness. He was surrounded by his beloved family and friends. Born and raised in Orlando, David attended Evans High School. Answering the call to serve his country, David enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was deployed to Vietnam. Throughout his service, he demonstrated exceptional courage and resilience, earning two Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star in recognition of his heroism and steadfast commitment to his fellow Marines.

Many people will remember, upon returning to Orlando, David married his true love, Debby Nichol. Together, they shared fifty-five years of marriage, building a strong partnership rooted in love and mutual respect. David poured his creativity and artistic talent into establishing a successful sign company, becoming known not only for his work but also for the genuine friendships he formed with his customers.

Many people will remember David & Debby's Halloween parties and Chili Cook-offs. Marty and Larry were eager participants, and along with David, created professional level costumes.

David's greatest source of happiness was spending time with his family and many friends. He was a man who loved deeply and laughed often, always sharing warmth and humor with those around him. David's quick wit and endless jokes made him the family's very own stand-up comedian, which was a career he thought he'd enjoy.

David was predeceased by his parents, Tom and Margaret Fann, and his younger brothers, Marty and Larry. He is survived by his loving wife Debby, his brother Tom (Julie), daughters Kristy (Nick) and Kelly, and his 5 grandchildren: Drew, Mya, Layla, Gavin and Karley. He had a special bond with his nephews Steven (Lindsey) and Michael (Marissa), who spent many hours watching his beloved Dolphins. After sixty years of enjoying Steak and Shake, his brother Tom introduced David to chili-macs, making them a weekly treat that brought him delight.

David will be fondly remembered for his courage, compassion, and the love he so freely gave to others.
