Obituary

David Emanuel Chance, age 93, died peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and family, in Orlando, Florida on Saturday, May 1, 2021.

Our beloved David, Dad, Grandpa, was born on April 11, 1928, in Porus, Manchester, Jamaica to Jane and David Chance Sr. David attended Porus Elementary School and thereafter developed the love for business and music. He later migrated to England where he married his first wife, Carmen Henry, that union produced two children Lyndell and Neville. Erol is the second of three sons in England. That marriage ended and David relocated to Jamaica, where he met his current wife Eulalee Smith. That union produced two children and four stepchildren.

David was very devoted to his family. He was a firm believer in Jehovah, he was always studying the bible and always teaching us about the scriptures. David loved reading his scriptures and loved to have discussions about what he had learned.

In 2002, David migrated to the United States of America to join his wife and children, but David's love for Jamaica was always present and therefore he would travel back and forth as often as he could before his health deteriorated.

David had a great passion for music, and it was evident by his musical band that he owned and was a part of for many years. He was known for his love of music, he played the saxophone and other instruments, but he loved playing the saxophone. David also owned and operated minibuses (Miss. Manchester) is widely known.

David will be especially remembered for his great conversations, his warm embrace, always giving words of encouragements. Dad was a kind and gentle giant. Dad loved his family and was very loyal to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

David is survived by his devoted wife, Eulalee Chance and cherished brother Blondel and sisters, Gloria Grant, Hermine Soderberg; his loving children, Neville, Lyndell, Erol Tashi, and Elgay and Stepchildren, Paula, Sophia, Paul, Michael and many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

David was preceded in death by his mother and father, Jane and David Chance, his brother Vernon Chance, his sisters Mavis Chance, Lethie Chance and Aldythe Ricketts and Joslyn Chance Sr.
