Daniel Merrill Plank was born in Akron, Ohio on April 9, 1979. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his friends and family, on December 8th after suffering a stroke on November 27th. He will be remembered for his fun-loving spirit and determination. He achieved his goals, no matter what obstacle was in his way. He is survived by his loving wife Andrea, his two young daughters Emily and Elizabeth, his parents, Dr. David and Leslie Plank, his brother Ryan, wife Amy and their children Isabella, Ava and Caden, along with his grandmother, Justine McCoy, and his in-laws Joseph and Alina Avello. Dan had numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles on both sides of his family. He is preceded by his grandfather, "Papa" McCoy and granddad and grandmom, Dr. C. Robert and Lucille Plank. Papa's whistle helped guide him home.
Danny is a Graduate of Trinity Preparatory School, where he was student body president, a member of the state championship cross-country team, and Athlete of the Year. He later attended the University of Florida for both undergraduate and dental school, where he was also the UF Mascot, Albert the Alligator. Danny completed his Oral Surgery Residency at Tufts University in Boston and later became Board Certified. Danny was dedicated to his profession by striving to provide the best patient care possible as well as giving back to organizations. One such organization was the National Foundation of Ectodermal Dysplasia where he helped evaluate and treat young patients with ectodermal dysplasia.
Family was Danny's passion and joy. He will be remembered for being a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and son. He also loved the outdoors, frequently spending time with his girls fishing from their dock or just spending time out on their boat. He was developing his interest for woodworking, and he was truly proud of his first project, an 8 foot tall Adirondack chair that is still in his front yard.
Danny will be missed forever but always remembered with a laugh and a smile.

Services for Danny will be held on Thursday, December 14th at 12 noon at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church on Park Avenue in Downtown Winter Park, FL. The address is: 526 North Park Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32789. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately afterwards on the church property, on the second floor of the Family Life Center.
