In Loving Memory of Daniel J. Castaneda

On January 5, 2026, our beloved father, Daniel J. Castaneda, 85, went home to be with
the Lord. He passed peacefully in his sleep and is now reunited in heaven with our
beautiful mother, Florinda, and our loving grandparents Daniel and Gisela Castaneda.
Danny and I are heartbroken and at a loss, yet we are comforted knowing that Dad is
finally at peace with Mom, whom he grieved deeply for the past two and a half years.
Their reunion brings us solace even in our sorrow.
Dad, lovingly known as Abuelo or Tío, fled Cuba in 1961 to escape communism,
courageously starting a new life in Jacksonville, Florida. Through hard work and
determination, he built a successful career in computer programming and, more
importantly, raised a loving family from the ground up.
He was a devoted husband, a good and loving father, a proud grandfather, and a
cherished great-grandfather. His strength, sacrifices, and unwavering love will live on
through all of us.
Our hearts are heavy with sadness, and he will be missed more than words can say.
Dad, we love you deeply and will miss you always.
Daniel is survived by his sons, Danny and John (Jamie).
