Ms. Dalila Irizarry Bandas died peacefully in her daughter's home on October 28, 2023 in
Longwood, Florida at the age of 96 years old.
Dalila is survived by her children and spouses, Edwin Sepulveda, Nelky Lugo, Mayda and
Hector Octaviani, Carlos Lugo and Ronaldo and Norma Lugo; twelve grandchildren, sixteen
great grandchildren and her adorable Chihuahua, Charly.
She is preceded in death by her husband Carlos Lugo; her siblings Aida, Reinaldo, Iris and
Cesar (Irizarry Bandas); and great grandchildren Stephen A. Mason-Octaviani and Lillian E.
Cerezo-Octaviani.
Dalila was born on December 25, 1926 in Barrio Ancones in San German, Puerto Rico. In
1951 she married Carlos Lugo. Dalila moved from her hometown to Ponce, Puerto Rico
where her children grew up into adults and later moved to Bayamon, Puerto Rico until her
husband Carlos Lugo died in 2012. She then moved to Longwood, Florida with her daughter
Mayda until her passing.
A funeral viewing is scheduled for 12:30 PM on Friday November 3, 2023 followed by Mass
from 1-2 PM at the All Souls Catholic Church Historic Chapel at 800 South Oak Street in
Sanford, Florida, 32771. Her remains will be transferred to DeGuisipe Funeral Home for
cremation and her ashes will be buried later at the Puerto Rico National Cemetery with her
late husband Carlos Lugo.
