Obituary

Dale G. Clemens, Jr. - family man, jokester, life of the party, Christian, and accomplished commercial broker, died on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 9:05AM. Dale was preceded in death by his father, Dale G. Clemens, Sr. in November 1982 and his mother, Mary Catherine Rotar in November 2017.

Some knew Dale as 'The Big Guy', 'Junior', 'The Head', or 'Snooky,' but everyone knew him as a man of strength and integrity, who constantly put others before himself.

He married his main squeeze, Georgia Clemens 42 years ago, with whom they had two children Brent G. Clemens and Melissa C. Scherman. He taught them to appreciate the simple things in life, to work hard, to never give up, to practice humility, patience, and empathy. He took pride in his family, and faith, as they were the cornerstone of his being.

He had a life-long love affair with his Midwestern, blue-collar work ethic, his Welsh and Lebanese heritage, his alma-mater, his 1999 Ford Explorer, Youngstown State University, Mill Creek Park, Civil War history, scotch, Belgium beer, outdoor activities, his Golden Retriever, Jackson, the Cleveland Indians, the Miami Hurricanes, and his eclectic friends and family.

He excelled at maintaining old friendships, creating new ones, living within his means, believing in God's master plan, passionately competing, loving hard, and showing vulnerability. Dale marched to the beat of his own drum. He took cues from no one and did not let the fear control him, his journey, or his destination.

He took pride in his two grandchildren Rhys Moses (5) and Marlowe Grace (3) for whom he would baby sit, take on adventures, and read stories – most recently the Night Before Christmas. He loved his daughter-in-law, Heidi Clemens, and his son-in-law, Joshua Scherman. He rests in peace knowing that each of his children found good ones.

A funeral service is scheduled at 1:00PM on Thursday, May 24th at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church (526 North Park Avenue | Winter Park, FL 32789) with visitation from 12:30 – 1:00PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida's Joe R. Lee Club, in memory of Dale, 101 E. Colonial Dr., Orlando, Florida 32801. Dale was an incredible advocate and mentor to the children and his legacy will live on through every single child who will remember "Mr. Dale's" guidance, heart and kindness.

Arrangements are entrusted to DeGusipe Funeral Home and Crematory, 9001 N Orlando Avenue, Maitland, Florida, 32751, 407-695-CARE(2273)
