Daisy Irene Stanley-Cummings, age 93, passed away peacefully and into Jesus's arms on February 17, 2024. She was born in Linden, New Jersey on July 4, 1930. Daisy will be remembered as a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend.
Daisy leaves behind a loving family, including four of her five children, Karen Fazekas, Brooke Breny, Nancy Krayer and Nelson Cummings, her eight grandchildren, James Krayer, Erin Bonner, David Breny, Karah Pedersen, Megan Fazekas-King, James Breny, Devon Slivers, and McGuire Brannon, and her thirteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Sylvia Woolworth, and sister-in-law, Mary Stanley. Daisy was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Daisy Stanley, her two brothers, Edward Stanley and Jim Stanley, her former husband, Allen Cummings, and her son, Allen Cummings Jr. Daisy was blessed to have a large extended family including Ralph Breny, Ron Krayer, Josie Cummings, Emily Kalscheur, Paul Fazekas Jr., Bob Woolworth, many nieces and nephews and their children, and an abundance of friends who felt like family.
Always full of life and positive energy, Daisy loved children and was a playful, caring mother and grandmother, never tiring of helping others find their creativity or making small gifts to share her love. Daisy embraced adventure and new experiences, gaining life-long friends along the way. Her overflowing love, passion for ideas, and excitement for learning positively influenced all that came into her orbit.
Daisy attended Upsala College, in East Orange, New Jersey and Florida Southern College in Orlando, Florida. An avid reader, Daisy collected and devoured books that supported her biblical studies and deepened her faith, including authors such as C.S. Lewis, Francis Schaeffer, R.C. Sproul, and Ravi Zacharias. She loved the opera, all kinds of different music, and the song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". She frequently enjoyed being carried away by music, her eyes closed, arms outstretched, and her body in movement across the floor.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, February 25th, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. If bringing flowers, the family suggests fresh cut daisies.
