Cook, Harold "Hal" Edward, 87 of Winter Park, Florida passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2014. Hal was born March 28, 1927 in Corbin, Kentucky to Jaman and Ora Bolton Cook.

Hal is survived by his loving wife and caretaker Cherry Cook, his sons; William Cook (Regina) and Richard Cook; Grandchildren, Lisa O'Connor (John); Great Granddaughters, Averi and Alivi; and Honorary Great Granddaughter Christine Olsen. He was preceded in death by his parents Jaman and Ora Bolton Cook; Brothers, Jack and Jim Cook; Sister, Doris Cook Skinner; and son Steven Cook.

Colonel "Hal" Cook made his career proudly serving our Country in the United States Army. His bravery and strength pulled him through War War II, The Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Upon retiring from the military and relocating to Florida, Hal served our community working as a Deputy for Orange County and he also worked in our Public School System. For the last 20+ years he has worked with Olsen Cars serving the Funeral Industry. Hal's compassion and respect has left him highly regarded as a true professional and close friend to all those who have been surrounded by him.

The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, November 16, 2014 from 4 to 6pm at DeGusipe Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 9001 N. Orlando Ave., Maitland, FL 32751 with a Funeral Service to follow at 6pm.

Hal will be laid to rest on Monday, November 17, 2014 @ 11:30 a.m. located at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513.
