THOMPSON, COLLEEN...Colleen Louise Thompson was born in Dayton, Ohio on September 26th, 1951, daughter of James & Patricia Carr. After a long and courageous battle with neck & throat cancer, Colleen left this earth to be with the Lord on October 23rd, 2014. Colleen's passions were family, road trips, good meals, a good deal and laughing. She was a great friend to all that she met and enjoyed the opportunity to help others.
Colleen is predeceased by her sister, Bridgette Carr and niece, Nicole Cochran. Survivors include her parents, James & Patricia Carr; her husband, Dan Thompson; children, Michael Patrick (Beth) and Jessica Poling (Derek Gilchrist); three sisters, Vicki Carr (Arnie Meyers), Sherri Kremer (Kirk) and Deborah Lovett (Tim); five grandchildren, Kailynn, Ashlynn, Drevon, Elena, Devon and 8 nieces and nephews, Zach, Tricia, Craig, Timmy, Crissy, Michael, Lucas and Jacob.
A ceremony to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, November 1st (All Saints Day) at 1st Baptist of Oviedo (45 West Broadway Street, Oviedo, FL 32765) with Chapel Services at 1pm, followed by a reception to share stories of her life and how fortunate we all were to be a part of it.
Her ashes will be spread throughout the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina, which was one of her favorite places to vacation, then transported to her final resting place at Calvary Cemetery (1625 Calvary Drive, Dayton, Ohio 45409) for another service the weekend following Thanksgiving.
