Clay Worthington Clayton went home to be with Jesus on May 1, 2021. Born March 4, 1961 in Winter Park, Florida to Charles Clayton Jr. and Joan Bennett Clayton. He attended Winter Park High School and Lake Highland Preparatory where he graduated in 1979.

Clay, a member of the SAE fraternity, received his BA from Mercer University and continued his studies at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and the Savannah College of Arts and Design where he earned a Masters in Art.

Clay was a gifted artist. His artistic style was colorful, happy and cheerful as was his countenance when he entered a room. Clay mastered acrylic/oil painting and was known for the energy his artwork offered any room.

Clay was a voracious reader who loved the Southern Classics, "Gone with the Wind", "To Kill a Mockingbird" and "Cross Creek". From the inspiration of the many great writers Clay also authored a novel, "Prisoners of Hope". His creativity never stopped.

He was a great caregiver and support to his Father and Mother. Clay and Joan, his mother, would always shared a call in the morning and a call in the evening.

Clay also had a green thumb. His gardens flourished and inspired many of his magnificent paintings. Always looking out for those hurting or overlooked, gave him the opportunity to express his love of Jesus and bless those around him. He enjoyed worship in many Central Florida churches including College Park Presbyterian, First Baptist and All Saints Episcopal.

Clay was in partnership with his younger brother and best friend Cole Clayton. Clay and Cole were in the real estate property management business.

Clay is survived by his Mother, Joan Clayton, his brothers, Charlie Clayton (Lisa) and Cole Clayton (Jae), his sister, Hope Roll (Bill) and 3 nephews, 5 nieces, 1 grandnephew and 2 grandnieces.

Visitation will be from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at DeGusipe Funeral Home, 9001 N. Orlando Av., Maitland 32751.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, May 7 at College Park Presbyterian Church, 118 E Par Street, Orlando 32804.
