Christopher Mark Cochran, 64, passed away in Altamonte Springs, Florida on August 23, 2022. He is the son of Betty Jo Short Cochran and the late John Presley Cochran of Tallahassee. A graduate of FSU's College of Business, he had more than 35 years of banking experience and was one of the founders of First Colony Bank in Maitland. Chris was respected as one of the finest commercial lenders in Central Florida. He was truly interested in getting to know people, learning about their business operations and figuring out how he might help them to become even more successful. If you asked for his opinion, you could be sure he'd give it. And because of his warm and affable personality, many customers became his friends.
Chris will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was a family man who enjoyed "just being together" with those he loved. When he had time to himself, he was either reading, watching movies or researching something on his laptop. His passion for and knowledge of "all things automotive" made him the go-to guy for friends making car decisions. He enjoyed sharing about his Christian faith and hosting a weekly home Bible study group. Chris was active in church where he served on the Personnel Committee and was chair of the Finance Committee. He was coordinator for the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University course and served on the board of The Christian Sharing Center in Longwood.
Chris is survived by his beloved wife Suzy Myrick Cochran and son John Christopher Cochran of Apopka; his mother Betty Cochran, sister Kelly (Frederick) Baudoin d'Ajoux and brother Greg Cochran of Tallahassee; brother Ralph (Diane) Smith of Ocala; in-laws John and Suzanne Myrick of Longwood; sister-in-law Claire (Jim) Bailey of Oviedo. Also, nieces and nephews: Elizabeth and Camille Cochran; Seth and Ian Baudoin d'Ajoux; Natalie and Turner Bailey.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 5, (Labor Day) at Lockhart Church 7601 Edgewater Drive, Orlando.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in the name of Chris Cochran to Lockhart Church.
