Chrissa Omiros Piwowar age 66, of Uniontown, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Uniontown Hospital with her family by her side after a long struggle with cancer. She was born to the late Christos and Alice Omiros on July 11, 1952. Chrissa graduated from Uniontown High School in 1971 and attended West Virginia Career Institute. She was married to Rick Piwowar in 1990.

Chrissa is survived by her husband of 29 years; two sons and their wives: Ken and Tiffany Moore, of Cape Coral, FL; and Jim and Sarah Moore, of Williamsburg, VA; and four stepchildren and their spouses: Joyce and Chris Smith, Richard and Teresa Piwowar, Brian and Jennifer Piwowar, and Adam Piwowar, all of Uniontown. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, all of whom she loved and cherished. She is survived by her brother and wife, George and Sophia Omiros and nephew Christopher Omiros and niece Alicia and Keven McCloskey and a great niece. Chrissa was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, Yiayia, and friend to many. She treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Yiayia...grandmother in Greek. She had a large circle of friends with whom she maintained strong connections over six decades.

The family expresses special thanks to Dr. Phillip Reilly and Dr. Stanley Marks and caregivers at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Centers for their care and compassion.

Per her wishes interment will be private. The family will host a gathering of family and friends to celebrate her life at a later date.
