It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Chaya Wade, who peacefully passed away on October 28, 2026 at the age of 58. While devastated by this loss, we take great comfort in knowing that she lived a life filled with love, laughter, hard work, and countless cherished memories. She touched the lives of so many and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Born in Lugazi, Uganda, Chaya’s life took her on a remarkable journey filled with excitement and new beginnings across the United Kingdom, New Jersey, Nevada, and Florida. Wherever life took her, she carried with her a heart of gold, an unwavering work ethic, and a kindness that left a lasting impression on those she met.
Chaya was a compassionate, intelligent, sassy, and hardworking woman who lived life on her own terms. She had a special way of making those around her feel loved. One of her greatest joys and proudest accomplishments was being a mother. She was endlessly proud of her children, and never missed an opportunity to share their accomplishments and tell others how much they meant to her. Whether it was a small everyday accomplishment, or a major milestone, she loved celebrating them. Her love and pride for her children knew no bounds, and being their mom was a role she treasured above all else.
She dedicated more than 25 years of her life to Target, where she worked her way up to become a Closing Lead Manager. Her commitment and strong work ethic were a testament to the woman she was, and the love she had for her job. Throughout those years, she became more than a coworker to her colleagues. She was a mother figure to many, always looking out for others, sharing advice, or providing a meal. Her warmth and generosity left a lasting impression on countless coworkers, many of whom became like family. Her Target family was truly an extension of her own.
Outside of work, Chaya found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved watching her television dramas, shopping, discovering new restaurants and cafes, and spending time in the kitchen. A wonderful cook, she often expressed her love through food, bringing people together over a homemade meal. Whether enjoying an outing, sharing a meal, or simply spending time with the people she loved, she treasured these everyday moments that became lasting memories.
Chaya was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Wade Jr.; her parents-in-law, Donald Wade Sr. and Bernadine Wade; and her brother-in-law, Nirav Parikh.
She leaves behind her two children, Jasmine Wade and Chakotay Wade; her parents Bhailalbhai & Kantaben Nayee; her sister, Bhavini Parikh; her brother and sister-in-law, Sanjay Nayee and Daxa Patel; two nieces and two nephews; and countless other friends and family who will forever cherish her memory.
We are forever grateful for the memories she gave us, the lessons she taught us, the laughter we shared, the meals she prepared, and, above all, the love she so freely gave. Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, the impact of her life will remain with us always. Her legacy lives on through the family she cherished, the friendships she nurtured, and the countless lives she touched along the way. She will be deeply missed, endlessly loved, and forever remembered.
