Chau Kim Thi (Ngo) Nguyen, 57, was called to go home with the Lord on July 21, 2023 in Kissimmee, Florida.
Chau was born in Saigon, Vietnam to Van Binh Ngo (father) and Thi Cum Nguyen (mother) on June 11, 1966. She was the fourth sibling of five children, Hoa Le Thi Ngo (sister), Hong Kim Thi Ngo (sister), Hue Minh Ngo (brother), and Trinh Kim Thi Nguyen (sister). Her family immigrated from Saigon to the United States in March 1985.
When Chau and her family first came to live in the Bronx, New York, she met her husband, Trinh Cong Nguyen. He lived in the same apartment complex, and he brought a simple chicken and cauliflower soup for them to eat. She graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School. They dated for a while, then when she was 21, Chau and Trinh got married on June 13, 1987.
They were blessed with two beautiful children, Nancy and Anthony (Tony). Chau loved and cared for her children throughout their lives. She had a close relationship with her children, now adults, and it was evident how much love and support she provided to them. She always put her family first. She was overwhelmed with happiness when she spent time with her two grandchildren, Gianna and Giuliano.
Chau loved to garden, cook, and fish. She worked for many hours in the backyard to nurture her plants. She enjoyed cooking meals with harvested herbs from her own garden and the seafood she caught with her husband. She shared her delicious dishes with her family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling around the world, especially her trips to Vietnam, Italy, Switzerland, and Thailand.
She converted to Catholicism when she married Trinh. She was strongly devoted to her faith and she was an active member in her religious community. She attended Mass, participated in prayer circles, and embarked on religious pilgrimages and retreats.
Chau is preceded in passing by her parents, Van Binh Ngo (father) and Thi Cum Nguyen (mother). She is survived by her sisters and brother, Hoa Le Thi Ngo (sister), Hong Kim Thi Ngo (sister), Hue Minh Ngo (brother), and Trinh Kim Thi Nguyen (sister), her husband, Trinh, her two children, Nancy and Anthony, her son-in-law Ryan Cimino, and her two grandchildren, Gianna and Giuliano.
The family appreciates all the prayers, generosity, kindness, love, and support during our time of loss.
