Charles Ellery Snell Jr.

October 25, 1978 - August 5, 2026

With heavy hearts, yet trusting in God’s perfect will, we honor the memory of our beloved Charles Ellery Snell Jr. a devoted husband, loving father, cherished brother and son, caring uncle, loyal friend, and beloved member of his family. Charles peacefully departed this life on August 5th, 2026, at AdventHealth Orlando. He was 47 years old.

Charles was born on October 25, 1978, in Avon Park, Florida, to Janice Davis and Charles Snell, Sr. He later attended Stetson University where he earned a degree in Computer Science. From an early age Charles had a natural love for computers and music, interest that remained with him throughout life. Yet, above all else, his greatest joy was simply being with the people he loved.

Charles had a way of leaving a lasting impression on those around him. He was known for his positive spirit, intelligence, and willingness to look out for others. His boss described him as “the greatest human being - always positive and looking out for everyone.” Those words reflect the kind of man Charles was and the impact he made on the lives of others.

Charles enjoyed cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers, spending time outdoors, and putting together Lego sets. But the moments he treasured the most was spent with his family. Whether through laughter, conversation, family gatherings, or simply being together, Charles created memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His wife lovingly described him as “the best father and husband we could ask for.” His devotion to his wife and children will remain one of the greatest parts of his legacy.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Uyen “Julie” Snell, whom he married in 2014; their three beloved children, Kennedy Snell (14), Noah Snell (12), and Eden Snell (10), of Longwood, Florida; his mother - Janice Lampley Davis of Winter Haven, FL. His father- Charles Snell Sr. of Orlando, Fl. His brother- Darren Lampley (Freda) of Springfield, Ga; His sisters Charniqua Snell of St. Augustines, FL and Zipporah Aponta of Miami, FL; along with nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many friends who loved him dearly.

Although saying goodbye to Charles brings tremendous sadness, his family gives thanks to God for the 47 years of life, love, laughter, and memories they were blessed to share with him. His presence will be deeply missed, but the love he gave, the lessons he taught, and the memories he created will continue to live through his wife, his children, his family, and everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

As we mourn his passing, we find comfort in the Word of God:

“The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart.” - Psalm 34:18 (KJV)

Celebration of Life Arrangements

A viewing will be held August 14, 2026 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at DeGusipe Funeral Home, 9001 N. Orlando Ave, Maitland, Florida 32751. Refreshments will be served upstairs.

A Funeral Mass celebrating Charles’s life will be held August 15th, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church, 1020 Montgomery Rd. Altamonte Springs, Florida 32714.

(Though Charles is no longer with us in the way we wish he could be, the love he gave his family will never leave them. His life mattered, his presence made a difference, and his memory will forever be cherished.)
