Charles Francis Lorenz Jr. passed away in the early morning of Friday, February 2, 2024, just a few weeks after celebrating his 90th birthday with family and friends. He was born in Irvington, New Jersey; graduated from St. Benedict's Prep in Newark, NJ and from St. Vincent's College in Latrobe, PA. He married his college sweetheart, Gertrude Catherine Ward from Shenorock, NY, who graduated from Seton Hill College in Greensburg, PA. He was a lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps. Chuck moved his family from New Jersey to Central Florida in 1968, joining St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, where he and Gert were very active, including several decades as members of the choir. He held various positions in banking, insurance, and for the Catholic Diocese of Orlando. Chuck was a long time Rotarian and Paul Harris Fellow. He is the youngest member of his generation of a large Polish family. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude; daughters, Lee (Mehrdad) and Liz (Benny, deceased); sons, Charles Francis III (Jerry), Steve (Cheryl), and Greg (Kathy); eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
