Charles Roger Harris, affectionately known as "Chas", was born on July 9,1948 in
Steubenville, OH to Catherine Harris. Chas peacefully passed away at home, while
asleep in his favorite chair on August 25, 2023, at the age of 75.
Chas was a member of Canonsburg Elks I.B.P.O.E.W. Lodge #186 and was a brother
for 50 years. He held various positions within the Elks organization which included
becoming the Exalted Ruler of the Canonsburg Lodge. Chas, his wife Mary, and their
close friends enjoyed traveling throughout the country to various Elk conventions.
He loved to dress to the nines from head to toe and dance to his favorite oldies.
Anyone who knew Chas knew he was a die-hard Steelers fan. He loved fishing, playing
softball, watching old western movies, Harry Potter & Lord of the Rings. Even more, he
loved supporting and cheering on his kids, grandkids and great grandkids at all their
activities.
Chas was a man of few words, but when he spoke up, everyone listened. He was a
solid man with integrity and a calmness to him. He loved his family and extended family
with his whole heart.
Chas made a career as a custodian and retired from California University of PA.
Chas leaves behind his wife of 32 years, Mary Bricker of Brownsville, PA, his three sons
Charles Pinson of Brownsville, PA, John (Jenifer) of Clarion, PA, Dana (Katrina) of
Longmont, CO, a brother Jimmy Dean of Canonsburg and two sisters, LeeAnnett Prysock of
Canonsburg and Corrine Hacket of Uniontown.
Chas also leaves behind thirteen grieving grandchildren who adored their Pap
including: Tyrone, Kenton, Solomon & Jermeir Pinson, Sadie Sibble, Michael (Alice),
Jasmine, Wanya Harris & LaShayla Finley, RaeShell, Malakai & Tobias Pinson, Brittany
Johnson and twelve great-grandchildren, special friends and relatives.
His daughter, Amy Bricker, Granddaughter, Alicia Peterson and bonus parents Martha &
Lee Dean preceded him in death.
Chas will be dearly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a Memorial Service at Triumphant Fellowship Church, 871 McClellandtown Road, McClellandtown, PA 15458, on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 2:00pm. A reception dinner will follow.
