Cecilia (Ceci) Stapleton Nelson went to the Lord on Thursday, September 13, after a brave 8-year fight with cancer. There will be a memorial celebration of her life at DeGusipe Funeral Home in Maitland, Florida on Friday, September 21, at 6:00 PM. There will also be a funeral Mass at Annunciation Catholic Church on Saturday, September 22, at 12:00 PM; the celebrant will be Father Gohring.

Ceci was born in Sanford, Florida on August 16, 1955, to Wilmer and Dorothy Stapleton. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, James Steven Nelson, her two children, James Steven Nelson Jr. and Darcy Sarah Nelson, her mother, Dorothy Knight Stapleton, her brother Thom Stapleton, and her cousins Donalyn Knight and Greg Knight.

Ceci was a graduate of Moravian College of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, with a degree in mathematics. She was a software engineer for Martin Marietta and later on with family companies.

The family is grateful to her many friends for the kindness they have shown during this difficult time. If anyone wishes to donate money in her honor, you can do so toward the American Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
