Catalina Nieves,79, died Saturday, February 14th, at Florida Hospital in Altamonte Springs, Fl with her husband daughter, and son by her side. We celebrate, remember and honor an incredible woman that will never be forgotten.
Catalina was born Sept. 27, 1935 in Fajardo, Puerto Rico to Thomas Gonzalez and Catalina Darder. She graduated from Barbosa High School and soon after moved to Bronx, NY in 1961, where she settled with her family for 10 years before moving to Newburgh, NY. She became an active member of St. Patrick's Church. She continued to serve with the church and became Eucharist minister and Catechism teacher of her new church, St. Mary Magdalen, once relocating to Altamonte Springs, Fl in 1995.
Catalina will be forever loved by those of us she left behind. We share laughter happiness and many beautiful memories that will stay with us always. She is survived by her husband William Nieves; her children William (Billy) Nieves, Roberto Nieves, Janet Rodriguez-Nieves, Maria Teresa Nieves; her six grandchildren Yuisa, Edwin Emmanuel, William, Angelica, Tia, Josue and her four great grandchildren Jasmine, Lianna, Ethan and Penelope. We are all truly blessed to have had her in our lives.
