Carrie Belle Brown was born on August 20, 1921 in North Augusta, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Samuel H. Bohler and Hattie Bohler.
On February 11, 1953 Carrie was united in loving matrimony to the late Willie H. Brown. They were blessed with three children.
Carrie was born and raised in North Augusta, SC where she attended local schools. She attended college at the Bettis Academy in Edgefield County, South Carolina where she majored in education. Upon graduating, Carrie worked as a school teacher in the south.
Some time later she relocated to New York City where she met and married her husband Willie Brown.
In the spring of 1959, Carrie dedicated her life to Jehovah and symbolized it by baptism at a circuit assembly in New York City. Carrie attended the Lenox Terrace congregation with her husband and children. She enjoyed spending time in her ministry teaching others the Bible's message of hope. Carrie especially enjoyed participating in street witnessing and conducting bible studies.
Carrie will always be remembered for her humor and wit, contagious smile, hospitality and the delicious meals she prepared and shared with many.
She is survived by her son Ritchie Brown (Eulalia & Randi) of Orlando, FL, and daughter Linda Whittlesey of Atlanta. She was preceded in death by her son Samuel Brown.
Left to treasure her memory are 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, extended family members, dear friends, and a host of beloved brothers and sisters in the various congregations she attended over the past 55 years.
