Carol Blanton Tucker, 70, passed away in the comfort of her home on October 19, 2021, at 6:36am after fighting a courageous six-year battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born and raised in Orlando, Florida, where she also spent the majority of her career and adult life. She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Allen, daughter, Amy, sons, Allen Jr., Justin, and Joshua, grandchildren Jennifer, Devin, Katelin, Jeremy, Ethan, and Chloe, and four great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her two sisters, Kathy and Anne, two nieces, a nephew, and countless children and families that became her extended family.
Carol devoted her career and her life to teaching and helping children with special needs, a cause that she fought for as hard as she fought cancer. She will be remembered for her special gift of creating an environment where children and families felt loved and appreciated, as well as for the time, dedication, and many sacrifices that she made in order to stay true to her mission of helping children and families.
Carol will be remembered for so much beyond her career: her kind heart, her devotion to her family, her willingness to accept people as they are and ability to lead and mentor them to greater places, her fun spirit, and, most importantly, her faith in the Lord. In recent years, she knew that her days were numbered, and she took time to grow her faith and inspired many others to do the same.
Carol Blanton Tucker made such a difference in the lives of her family, her colleagues, her community, and our world. She shared her vision and her mission with so many others and, without a doubt, changed countless lives in the process. May her life be an example to us all.
A service will be held to celebrate her life on Sunday, October 24, at 1:00pm at the College Park United Methodist Church located at 644 W Princeton St., Orlando, FL 32804. There will be a reception afterwards at the Kraiss' home.
