Carlos Cruz-Rivera, 82, of San Juan P.R., beloved husband of Gladys Cruz Ortiz for 54 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by the ones he laughed with, lived for, and loved, on September 23, 2014. We thank God for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we spent with him.

He was predeceased by his son Carlos Cruz and his parents Justo Cruz and Eustaquia Rivera.
Besides his wife Gladys, Carlos is survived by his 5 daughters, Yolanda Cruz of Altamonte Springs, FL, Awilda Ortiz of Orlando, FL Maria Cruz, Milagros Cruz and Sylvia Cruz of San Juan P.R.; his grandchildren, Johanna, Gladys, Vilmarie, Carlos Omar, Yessenia, Charitza, Isander, Adamaris, Carlos, Margorie, Karla, Shirley, Christian, Roy, Shayna, Brian, Lynette, Valerie, Krystle; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the members of the Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs. Their dedication and effort to provide quality care over the last week were a heartwarming blessing to the entire family.

A viewing will be held honoring Carlos on Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. A Memorial service will be on Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm, followed by a reception.
