Cameron Everett Goode, beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle, friend, and aficionado of foxes, passed away on Friday, October 13. He was 21. A graduate of Good Shepherd Catholic School, South Walton High School, and Valencia College, Cameron studied Information Technology at the University of Central Florida and worked part-time as a tutor.

Among posts from friends and classmates on his Facebook remembrance page, one can't help but notice a recurring theme: Cameron's essential kindness. His close friend Hamza Siddiqui admired him for "living an honest and noble life," as well as for his sense of integrity and adventure. With Cameron, "there was always something new to do."

He was indeed a gentle, caring person. This perhaps found no greater expression than his love for animals, whether family pets such as his pug, Eloise, or his cat, Tallulah (the world's cutest, he was known to argue) — or his mild obsession with foxes. In these clever, inquisitive and resourceful creatures he recognized a sort of spirit animal, and he often spoke of one day keeping one as a pet.

His smiles showed remarkable range, from the subtlest and slyest of smirks to a great, beaming, infectious grin — a mixture of glee and triumph most often deployed when he learned something new or obscure. These will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his mother, Stacy Venable Goode of Orlando; and father, Robert Goode of Santa Rosa Beach; his brother Brenden Goode of Orlando; and sister Lyndsey Delk of Durham, North Carolina.

A service celebrating Cameron's life was held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 18.
