Nine days before his 83rd Birthday, Cal went to be with the Lord, leaving his pain and broken body behind.
He was born in Oak Park, Il to Chester and Ebba Bounds and was the third of five children.
The family moved to St. Petersburg the fall of 1950 where Cal finished High School and attended St. Petersburg College. He joined the Air Force and was stationed in Japan and later at Mac Dill Air Force Base in Tampa, Fl.
He worked for the St. Petersburg Times in the Sports Dept. and also as a proof reader.
He spent a year in New York City proof reading for major columnists before going into sales positions with Kirby Stevens Lighting and then Real Estate.
Cal has two living children, son Larry Runyan, Wooster, Oh and daughter India Kudla, St. Petersburg area,four grand-children, a sister and two brothers.
After retirement he needed something to do so he drove a school bus for Pinellas County and then drove for the Airport Shuttle Service.
Cal's passion was playing Pool and he was an active league player lovingly referred to as "Ole Monkey".

A memorial service will be held a Bay Pines Cemetery on Friday, April 1, 2016, at 12:45 pm.
