Brian Paul Buwalda, age 51, of Orlando, Florida passed away on September 11, 2017.
Brian was born October 1, 1965 in Ridgewood New Jersey, to Simon Buwalda Jr. and Geraldine (Hogan) Buwalda. Brian attended Calvin College and the University of Florida, graduating with a Master's in Accounting (M.Acc). Brian was a Principal at CliftonLarsonAllen LLP, an accountancy and wealth advisory firm.
Brian served as a Board Member for Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida (through 2013) and the Florida College System Foundation, and was a Member of "The Circle" for the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.
He is survived by his parents, Simon and Geraldine Buwalda of Tavares, FL; brother and sister-in-law Tim and Tammy Buwalda of Maitland, FL.; sister Lois Buwalda of Havertown, PA; and two nieces and one nephew; and a large community of friends.
Visitation will be from 5:30-8:00 p.m., Friday, September 22, 2017 at DeGusipe Funeral Home & Crematory, 9001 North Orlando Avenue, Maitland, FL 32751. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Northland Church, 530 Dog Track Road, Longwood, FL 32750. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Park, Lake Mary, FL in a private service.
