Bobby Lawson was born in Reynolds, Georgia on September 24, 1929 to Maude Owens Lawson and Percy Elbert Lawson. Bobby fell asleep in death at the age of 85 in his home on Saturday March 28, 2015 at 4:15 a.m. He was raised primarily in Albany, Georgia. Bobby courageously moved north to Connecticut for work opportunities and to be with a couple of his siblings. It was in Connecticut that Bobby met the love of his life and best friend Alyce Rebekah Rowe. Bobby and Alyce were married on August 15, 1953. From their union came 3 children. Deborah Lynn Lawson (December 15, 1955 thru May 5, 1990), Marvin Derrick Lawson (January 16, 1957 thru December 11, 2003), and Reginald Todd Lawson. Bobby worked for The Stanley Works Company for 37 years until his official retirement in 1989. Afterwards, Bobby and Alyce operated A & B Lawn Service for about 15 years which Bobby loved. Throughout Bobby's life there were many lows and highs, bad decisions, and good decisions. One of Bobby's best decisions was his dedication to Jehovah God on June 27, 1998. Bobby later had the privilege of serving as a ministerial servant in the Woodsmere Congregation. Bobby will be remembered as a hard working devoted husband, peacemaker, friendly neighbor, excellent father / grandfather, proud uncle, honored brother, and cherished son. He is survived by his loyal and caring wife Alyce R. Lawson, youngest son R. Todd Lawson and his wife Dana S. Lawson, Grandson Ryan A. Lawson, Granddaughters Rhia N. Lawson, T'Keyah E. Lawson, Jael D. Pettigrew, and Great-Granddaughters Denali Rae-Ann Lawson, and Ghia Nikole Brown. Bobby is also survived by two fleshly sisters. Betty Lewis of Albany, Georgia, and her accomplished, respectful children. Also, Vorna Carson of Hartford, Connecticut and her multi-talented children.
