Bill RC Norvell
February 17, 1922 – February 9, 2017
Bill Norvell, 94 of Altamonte Springs, Florida passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017.
Born in Charleston, Arkansas he was the third of six children born to Samuel H. Norvell
and Amanda M. Venable.
He served 30 years in the US Army and US Air Force, attaining the rank of CMSgt. He was a member of the "Greatest Generation" answering the call to duty in World War II, Korea and Viet Nam. After retiring from the military, he worked as a Street Superintendent for the City of Altamonte Springs, until he retired in 1987.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Jeannette Marie Chagnon who died in 2016.
Bill is survived by four children- Mike Norvell of Reston, VA: Carol Miller of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario: Bill Norvell of Jacksonville and Sandy Schultz of Altamonte Springs, eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Bill enjoyed reading, fishing, sports, traveling and spending time with family. Bill loved the game of golf, and in the words of Adlai Stevenson: "Some of us worship in churches, some in synagogues, some on golf courses."
Bill was a man of strong faith and in his final hours was ready to see Mom again and meet God for an everlasting life.
