Bill Croft, Sr., 89, of Winter Haven, Florida, passed away on October 15, 2018. Bill was born June 17, 1929 in Camilla, Georgia. He grew up in Pelham, Georgia. After serving in the U.S. Navy, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where he worked for the railroad. There, he met the love of his life, Mildred "Millie" Allene Cannon. They were married at Jackson Hill Baptist Church on February 17, 1951. Five years later, his work with the railroad took him to Lakeland, Florida. He worked various jobs with auto parts supply houses before taking a job with Linder Industrial Machinery selling parts for heavy industrial equipment. He, Millie and their three children relocated to Winter Haven, FL., in 1965. His favorite pastimes were watching baseball and football games from his comfortable recliner, hunting and fishing.
Bill was preceded in death by his father Grover Cleveland (G.C.) Croft, mother Dovie Spradley, brothers Willis, Bernie, and Grover Cleveland (G.C.), Jr., and sisters Estelle and Nelle.
Survivors at the time of his death included wife Mildred (Millie) of Winter Haven, FL., son Bill Croft, Jr. (Lisa) of Maitland, FL., daughter Terry Ann (Al) Pustanio of Mandeville, LA., and daughter Carol Jane Pierce of Plant City, FL., sister Nina Butts of Lee County, GA., grandchildren Cindy Crawford, Kristen Criddle, Matt Croft, Elise Pustanio, Michael Pustanio, eight great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Robinson Baptist Church located in the community of Robinson, Georgia.
