Beverley P. Freeman, of Seminole County, Florida, passed away on October 22, 2024. She was born on March 2, 1936 in Homerville, Georgia, to parents Sebron Ezekial Jones and Emma Lenora Beasley. Beverley grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and was a 1954 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville. She also graduated from UCF (then known as FTU) with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling.

Beverley was a guidance counselor at Lyman High School for over twenty years, serving as Director of Guidance the majority of that time. She loved her work at Lyman and celebrated the progress and achievements of the students she assisted. Before her work at Lyman, she served as the director of the adult services program at UCP of Central Florida.

Beverley was active in the Central Florida community. She was a woman of faith, family, and friendships. She was a long-time active member of St. Marks Presbyterian Church, serving on the Session of the church for many years. She served on the Board of Trustees of Seminole State College (then known as SCC) from July 1975 through September 1988, acting as Chair from July 1980 through June 1982. She was a member and past President of the Woman's Club of Casselberry.

Beverley was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandson. In earlier years, she spent countless hours at music lessons, gymnastics practices and competitions, and lacrosse games. (Thanks, Mom!) She also enjoyed life-long friendships with her classmates from high school and grammar school. She loved her dogs, horses, playing bridge with her friends, and following the Florida Gators.

Beverley is survived by her daughters, Nancy Freeman and Melanie Chase; son-in-law, John McHale; ex-husband and lifetime friend, Thomas G. Freeman; grandchildren, Christopher Giard, Mac McHale, and Katie McHale; granddaughter-in-law, Nicole Giard, and great-grandson, Lucas J. Giard. She will be greatly missed and remembered with love.
