Obituary

Our dear mother, Betty Gardner, passed away on December 24, 2022. She died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 95 at the AdventHealth Hospital in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

Betty led a full and busy life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching football and basketball. Her favorite teams were the Florida State Seminoles, San Antonio Spurs, Miami Dolphins, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Her hobbies included reading, crocheting, and gardening. She used her iPhone daily, playing games and texting her daughters and granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Gardner, and her siblings Charlie Hayes, Myra Copeland, and Max Robison. She is survived by her sister, Margie McCarty, her daughters LuAnne and Jeanne and their husbands and families, including 4 granddaughters and 7 great grandchildren.

She will be buried at the Florida National Veterans Cemetery next to her husband. She will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Homes for Our Troops foundation, which provides homes for severely injured veterans:
