Betsy Ann (Kegg) Lizza, 67, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 9th, 2025
surrounded by her loving family.

Betsy was born on June 18, 1957, in Uniontown, PA the daughter of Tom and Lois (Bell) Kegg.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her in-laws, Mario & Adelina Lizza.

Betsy leaves behind a cherished family. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, John, and their two children – John Lizza Jr. and his wife Kelly, of Uniontown; Adele Dean and her husband, Jeremiah of Uniontown; Betsy was blessed with two grandsons, Austin and Cooper Dean, whom she adored; Additionally, she leaves behind her siblings, in-laws, nephews, nieces and cousins, who will forever remember her bright spirit.

Betsy is a graduate of Uniontown High School and retired from her career as a Police Communications Officer with the Pennsylvania State Police.

A devoted Wife, Mom and Granny – Betsy leaves behind a legacy of kindness and love. She always put the needs of her family first and dedicated her life to being the most wonderful Mom to her kids, nurturing them with endless love and support, and then being the best "Granny Betsy" to her grandchildren, whom she spoiled with playtime and attention.

Betsy was full of personality – always smiling and laughing but could be quite feisty. She loved to travel and enjoyed vacations with her family – several weeks spent in Italy, and yearly beach vacations were her favorite.

She adopted many pets, and leaves behind her two pet companions, Emmy & Sophia.

Her joyous spirit, bright smile and unique laugh will be missed. Betsy knew that the greatest blessings in life are those we hold close to our hearts. Her life was truly a testament of family and love, and she will be missed dearly.

To honor Betsy and celebrate her life, friends and family will be received in the DeGusipe Funeral Home and Crematory, 65 N. Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, PA, Stacey A. Dolfi, FD on Wednesday, February 12th, 2025 from 5pm - 8pm, and on Thursday, February 13th, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at which time a service will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM with Rev. Winfrey officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. St. Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the following people for the love and care regarding Betsy - Blanche Papier; Pete Perazzola; and the wonderful nurses and aides at Amedisys Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cure Alzheimer's Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to funding research in order to prevent, slow and reverse Alzheimer's disease.
