Bertha Virginia Gregory, 92, formerly of Lake Mary, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2020. She is survived by her sister, Grace, and her four children, Mark (Phyllis), Karen (Philip), Kelly (George), and Tracy (Brent), as well as her 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Preceding her in death is her brother Jack, and her sister Doris, as well as her husband of 70 years, Earl.

Bertha was born in Lake City, FL on April 4th, 1928 to Stafford H. and Mary V. Lang. She met her husband, Earl, while walking to her job at the local drug store. After their marriage, they lived in Winter Haven and Sanford, before settling in Lake Mary, where they started their family and lived for almost 60 years.

Throughout her long and full life, Bertha enjoyed hobbies such as water skiing, motorcycles, camping, and shuffleboard. She loved Jesus and was always faithful in her church attendance and service. Bertha was a great cook who was known for making the best biscuits and a phenomenal coconut cake. She was also a talented seamstress. For many years she worked in the local school system, holding positions from a school bus driver to retiring as a lunchroom manager.

Although her life outside the home was full and meaningful, her family was her greatest achievement and brought her the most joy. A loving and caring wife, and a fantastic mother to her four children, Bertha was the embodiment of a Christian woman who had a life well-lived. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Visitation will be held on November 13, 2020, from 1pm-2pm with a Funeral Service following from 2pm-3pm at DeGusipe Funeral Home, 905 S. Laurel Ave., Sanford, Florida, 32771. Graveside Service will be held at 3:30 pm at Lake Mary Cemetery.
