Bennie Edward Bedenbaugh Sr.

Bennie E Bedenbaugh Sr. passed peacefully on Saturday afternoon with his family at his side. Bennie was a lifelong resident of Florida. Born in Orlando, but raised in Ocala, Bennie graduated from Ocala High School in 1961. Bennie married his high school sweetheart, Edith Marie Johns in 1965.
Bennie graduated from Rollins College with a bachelor's degree in science in 1971. Bennie was a civil engineer and worked for the State of Florida and several other corporations before starting his own engineering firm H&B Consulting Engineers, in 1988. Bennie was an active member of the community and served as the city engineer for Bushnell, Center Hill, Wildwood, and other surrounding communities in Sumter county.
Bennie was a strong Christian, Deacon at First Baptist Orlando, and a member of Gideons International. Bennie went on several mission trips to Montana. Bennie also volunteered his time with the Florida Baptist Children's Home in Lakeland. Bennie was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. One of his favorite pastimes was to cheer on the Florida Gators.
Bennie is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Bernice Bedenbaugh, and his brother Charles "Chuck" Bedenbaugh. Bennie is survived by his loving wife Marie and his son Bennie Bedenbaugh II and daughter in law Ashley. He also leaves his cherished grandchildren, Kellan and Kelsey, as well as many wonderful friends who he treasured.
A celebration of Bennie's life will be held at First Baptist Church Orlando at the Henry Chapel on Saturday, May 25th at 2:00pm.
