It is with great sadness that the family of Benjamin Andrew King, 22, announces that Ben's life was tragically ended prematurely in a car accident on February 7, 2018 in Fern Park.
Ben was born on July 10, 1995 in Jacksonville, Florida. When Ben was 7 years old, his family moved to Central Florida, where Ben attended Lake Orienta Elementary, Altamonte Springs, English Estates Elementary, Fern Park; South Seminole Middle School, Casselberry; and graduated from Lake Howell High School in 2013. While in high school, Ben loved singing in the Lake Howell High School Choirs all four years, especially when he sang in Disney's Candlelight Processional at Epcot Center. Ben also was an active participant in the Navy ROTC program at Lake Howell Howell High School. On the summer before his junior year of high school, Ben even went on a summer Mission Trip to Honduras working on a construction project building a storage warehouse for an orphanage.
After high school, Ben worked full time as a server in the dining room at the Mayflower Retirement Community in Winter Park, serving meals to the residents on a daily basis for four years. Ben loved Acapella singing groups, especially Pentatonix and Voctave, and worked as an intern for sound engineering companies, including the local band, Skin Deep. Ben loved to travel, and had the opportunity to travel to Dublin, Ireland last December. Ben was a friendly, easy-going young man; everyone who knew him – loved him.
Ben will be greatly missed by his surviving family members: Christine and Tim Shields, mother and step-father; James and Diana King, father and step-mother; Angela King, sister; Lydia King, sister; William King, brother; Garrison King, brother; Aaron King, brother; Micah King, brother; Ya'El King, sister. Ben will also be greatly missed by his girlfriend, Jenna Young.
