Barbara Willy (nee: Kuechenberg), aged 93, residing at Westminster Towers in
Orlando, Florida, passed away on June 18, 2022.
Barbara was born on Guardian Angels Day, October 2, 1928, and grew up in Gary,
Indiana. She married Frank A. Willy, Jr. on May 3, 1947. For 75 years they lived a full and
adventurous life, residing in Indiana, Pennsylvania, then moving to Avion Palms in
Bowling Green, Florida, her "little piece of heaven," and finally moving to Orlando.
Barbara's tiny stature belied her sizable achievements, the best of which was raising
five beautiful and grateful children. She travelled through the US, Canada, Mexico,
and Europe. She was an enthusiastic gardener, cook, football fan, line-dance coach,
and avid reader. She had a special fondness for music, whether listening to Mozart
or Tchaikovsky at full volume. She exuberantly sang along with Mario Lanza or the
church choir. Barbara especially enjoyed both playing Bridge and walking hand-in-
hand with her lifelong friend, partner, lover and husband, Frank.
She was a devout Roman Catholic and an exceptionally devoted wife, mother,
grandma, great-grandma (G.G.). She cared deeply for family and friends.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 75 years, Frank, of Orlando, FL; daughter
Trudy K. Graves (husband, Bob) of Orlando; son Frank A. Willy, III of Woodbridge,
VA; daughter Barbara J. Worth (husband, BJ) of Whitefish, MT; son Christopher J.
Willy (wife, Joan) of Media, PA; and son Karl F. Willy of Sparta, TN; twelve
grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on October 15, 2022 at St. Charles
Borromeo Catholic Church, 4001 Edgewater Drive in Orlando, immediately followed
by interment at Queen of Angels Catholic Cemetery, 1901 Queen of Angels Drive in
Winter Park.
