Barbara W. Landress, 84, has passed away in Longwood, Florida on September 28, 2019. Barbara was born November 23, 1934 in Champaign, Illinois. It was there she grew up most of her life until she met her husband, Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents Frederick and Winifred Passmore.

Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and mother-in-law. Their son, Glen has Multiple Sclerosis she and Thomas shared eighteen years visiting and caring for him. They were active in finding a cure. She lived in Sanford 30 years and was very active in her church. Dad used to tease her because she was always the last one to leave!

She was also a devoted employee of the City of Winter Springs. Barbara loved her job, and those she worked with loved and respected her. Her position was in management, she was a responsible and dedicated employee. She will be greatly missed by many. I know she never took a vacation or sick day in the many days she worked for the the company. That was the way my mother always was.

Upon leaving work, Barbara would pick her grandson up from school, and take him to baseball- as I could not get off from work. The last time he saw his grandmother, he thanked her for always being there for him and his mother; he knew he could not play ball without her help and support.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frederick and Winifred Passmore.

She is survived by her husband, of 66 years Thomas I. Landress; her two daughters, Gail (George) Twadell, Virginia Guanciale, and one son, Glen Landress; two beautiful grandsons, Charles "Bobby" Angove IV and Anthony Guanciale; several great-grandchildren her cousin Connie Risner, and many friends.


She will be deeply missed. All the grandchildren loved her very much. There will be many tears shed and a lot of prayers.
