Obituary

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Barbara Thibou, a much-loved mother, grandmother, and friend. Barbara was born on December 4th, 1933, on the island of Trinidad and Tobago, to Lionel and Lilly Doyle. In the early 1960s, she migrated to the Unites States of America with the hope of providing a better life for her seven children.

Barbara lived a full life that has touched the lives of countless people, known and unknown, with her kindness and generosity. For over two decades, she worked as a dedicated nurse's aide at Brooklyn Jewish Hospital, where her compassionate care and comfort gave solace to countless patients. Barbara was a selfless and devoted caregiver, always ensuring her patients received the best possible care.

Barbara loved to travel and vacation with her girlfriends, cherishing every moment spent with them. She lived her life to the fullest, always making time for family and friends. Barbara was a source of inspiration and encouragement to everyone she met, leaving a lasting impression on their lives.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Lionel and Lilly Doyle, her sister Margorie Bourne, nephews Tony Bourne, and Algee "The King" Bourne. She was also preceded in death by her nieces Anette, Jacklyn, Ingrid, and Jasmine.

Barbara is survived by her seven children, Gary, Hayden, Camille, Rhonda, Trevelle, Tracey, and Ershwyn "Monty" She was a loving grandmother to eighteen plus grandchildren, great grandchildren and an aunt and great aunt to many others. She will be deeply missed by her sorrowing nieces, nephews, relatives, and countless of friends.

Barbara's legacy will live on through the many lives she touched with her kindness and compassion. She was a remarkable woman who lived her life with purpose and passion, and her memory will continue to inspire those who knew her. Rest in eternal peace, Barbara Thibou.

There will be a viewing prior to the service Friday May 12th at 11am-11:55am. Service begins 12 noon at DeGusipe Funeral Home & Crematory.
