Barbara Joyce Reid, born in the hills of West Virginia on November 30, 1937, passed away peacefully May 1, 2025, in her Winter Park home, surrounded by love. The daughter of a coal miner, Barbara carried with her the strength, humility, and deep-rooted values of her upbringing throughout her life.

Barbara was known for her gentle nature, loving heart, and generous spirit. She nurtured everyone around her, always offering kindness, warmth, and a listening ear. But beneath her softness was a spirited, feisty strength that made her truly unforgettable.

She was known as a "working girl." Most notably as a teacher's assistant at Lakemont Elementary school where she was beloved by her colleagues and students.

The role she cherished most was being a mother to her "girls": Michelle, Danielle (Danny), and Joy (Jim). Her love for them was unwavering, and her legacy lives on through them.

Barbara also adored her grandchildren and embraced the role of "Grandma Honey and MaGa" with unmatched joy and devotion. She was the very embodiment of grandmotherly love to her grandchildren Kayla, Erin (Andrew), Jonathan (Hayley), Bo, Patrick, Elin (Josiah), Connor, and Jackson. Her presence in their lives was a gift they will carry forward always.

She loved her parents and siblings, Denny, Della, John, and Steve deeply, and her life was a testament to quiet resilience, fierce love, and enduring grace.

Above all, Barbara loved the Lord. It was her steadfast faith in God that guided her steps, shaped her spirit, and allowed everything else in her life to flourish. Her faith was the foundation of the love she so freely gave to others.

She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
